VOXXI Launches "VOXXI Connects"
A series of online discussion to catapult Latinos into the forefront of American dialogue. The first topic on "Dissecting Immigration" examines the social impact and historical perspective with political pundits Pilar Marrero and Ruben Navarrett
Online, May 18, 2012 (Newswire.com) - VOXXI, the premier site for independent news and commentary with a Hispanic focus, announces the launch of "VOXXI Connects," a series of online discussions bringing to the forefront the most important political, social and economic issues that matter most to U.S. Hispanics.
VOXXI's first discussion, "Dissecting Immigration," will tackle the social, historical and political implications of immigration and why there is such a visceral reaction among Latinos to this issue. Given all the controversy and attention surrounding this issue, VOXXI is hosting an engaging debate on the Google+ Hangout On Air.
Political columnist Pilar Marrero will discuss Latinos' unique perspective on the issue of immigration, this country's anti-immigrant history, and why politicians don't seem to get it. Marrero is a political writer for La Opinión and author of the new book, "El Despertar del Sueño Americano", a retrospective of her 25 years covering this topic since the last major immigration reform law was passed.
Joining Marrero for this important dialogue will be VOXXI political columnist and CNN commentator, Ruben Navarrette.
VOXXI's National Political Editor Carlos Sanchez will moderate the discussion.
