Use Social Media to Boost Google Rank

Social media is now being used by a lot of business owners to engage with customers, but it can also be used to improve search engine rankings. Justin Meadows, owner of Evergreen Profit, reveals the best way to do this.

Social media should be a part of any good online marketing strategy. The number of people using social media is still growing and these people buy things. The tricky part is implementing the right strategy for your business, balancing time and effort and money with return.

There are far too many social media platforms to use and that can be integrated into the website. The primary goal should be to bring new visitors to the website and then provide a chance for them to share with others their experience, bringing more new visitors.

How to do this, according to Meadows, is to have 'Like' and 'Share' buttons on the site pages. The most important ones are Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter and Pinterest buttons. Apart from these 'shares' or 'likes' being shown to the persons friends, bringing more people to the site, search engines like Google can also see these 'social signals' and use them to help decide how popular and valuable your webpage is.

Another strategy that Meadows recommend is to use Facebook comments to encourage discussion on your blog posts, again this is shared with the commenters friends on Facebook but it also adds a 'social proof' element which encourages others to share, comment and gives people more trust when buying from your brand.

So the best way to get a bit of viral sharing of your web pages, is to first create amazing and valuable content, and then make it easy and ask visitors to share using share buttons or comments.
