US Dept of Commerce Appoints Reynolds to Advisory Committee

Online, May 21, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Florida's Heartland Regional Economic Development Initiative (FHREDI) President/CEO, Gina Reynolds, has been appointed by the U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary, Penny Pritzker to serve a two-year term on the Advisory Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness.

The Committee, comprised of 40 senior-level representatives of supply chain companies, associations, and community organizations from across the nation, will advise the Secretary, and the U.S. Department of Transportation on issues that affect the international competitiveness of U.S. businesses. The Advisory Committee will act as a liaison between industry and government and will provide detailed advice on the elements of a comprehensive national freight infrastructure and freight policy to support U.S. supply chain and export competitiveness. The Committee's work is intended to further the federal government's efforts to expand U.S. exports of goods and services and to create economic opportunities for American businesses.

FHREDI is a regional economic development organization that represents the rural communities in South Central Florida. The targeted industries of the region are global trade and logistics, manufacturing, food processing and medical.
