TMHE's Mobile Elevating Work Platform For Reach Trucks Improves Forklift Efficiency

The new mobile elevating work platform continues Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE)'s tradition of supplying quality, reliable solutions for the material handling industry.

Compatible with the BT Reflex R-series forklifts, the mobile elevating work platform facilitates and simplifies the process of work at great heights, such as high-level maintenance and inventory checking. It improves the performance of these reach trucks and complements their design while simultaneously reducing the need for two-man operations. The BT Reflex R-series trucks are renowned for their efficient design, reliable nature and competency with heights and include the Transitional Lift Control (TLC) feature and AC motors.

With this new feature, the operator has more freedom and control in operations: the platform offers the possibility to lift and lower, and to drive directly from the elevating cage. control lift, lower, reach in and drive straight from the elevating cage. This allows for fast and efficient material handling performed by one person, and with no need for additional scissor-lifts. The work platform is available with the BT RRE160 and the BT RRE200 models. It can work at heights of up to 10 metres, and includes extra features such as an 'E-bar' mounting for ancillary equipment together with a power supply.

In accordance with TMHE's utmost care for creating safe products, the mobile platform is designed with an anti-slip floor and high safety rails, a slope indicator for extra stability, as well as emergency lowering and evacuation facilities. The speed is also limited to 2km/h when driving from the platform.

"The safety and the productivity of our customers lie at the core of our activity. We have created the mobile elevating work platform as a new additional option that offers them real savings. This solution reduces material handling costs eliminating the need for two-man crew operations. The platform can easily be removed, according to the customers' specific requirements, enabling the truck to operate as a standard BT Reflex R-series reach truck," says Therese Precenth, Product Manager, Toyota Material Handling Europe.
