Thousands Of Seniors Unaware of VA Benefit

Senior Veterans, LLC assists senior veterans and their spouses secure a little-known disability benefit.

David F. Bolser and L. Timothy Zaring, Co-Founders of Senior Veterans, LLC, announced today the launch of their company web-site, seniorvet.org.

This benefit, the "Non-Service Connected Disability Pension" is part of Title 38 of the Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) which governs the treatment of U.S. Veterans and is a codification of the General and Permanent Rules published by the Federal Register by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The benefit was passed by the United States Congress and signed into law by President Eisenhower in 1951.

The benefit is remarkably similar to Long-Term Care Insurance in how it works. However, it is dissimilar in that the "premiums" have been prepaid by the Veteran's service, the maximum monthly benefit awards are determined by marital status and the spouse is additionally covered.

The key criteria for filing a claim are:
1. Claimant is incurring out-of-pocket medical expenses now.
2. The VA must view these costs as "un-reimbursed medical expenses."
3. Expenses must be verifiable and documented.
4. Expenses must be regular, recurring and significant.

If granted, benefits are deposited electronically every month into an account designated by the Claimant; the payments continue for life and are tax-free. Maximum monthly benefit amounts are:

Married Veteran: $1,949.00

Single Veteran :$1,644.00

Surviving Spouse: $1,056.00

The VA states, "There is no set limit on how much net worth a veteran and his dependendents can have, but net worth cannot be excessive. The decision as to whether a claimant's net worth is excessive depends on the facts of each individual case.

"Estimates are that thousands of senior veterans and surviving spouses are eligible for this VA benefit. Most have never heard of it, even though it has been around for 60 years," says, Bolser. "The lifetime tax-free benefits are substantial, up to $23,388.00 per year for a married veteran, slightly less for single veterans and surviving spouses. Our intent is to relieve families of an enormous financial stress by helping them secure this pension. Our web-site does that. The "Home" page features a short video of Brian Williams of NBC News who offers a concise explanation of this program. If you think your loved one qualifies, start your claim with one click. It's just that easy. Additionally, all our services are provided free of charge as required by Federal Law," Bolser states.

Federal Regulations prohibit accredited agents/representatives from charging fees for the "preparation, presentation, and processing of claims for veteran's benefits before the Department of Veterans Affairs." Therefore, Senior Veterans, LLC must rely on the generosity of benefactors in order to continue the mission.

Zaring adds, "This benefit is a financial godsend for families, considering that 65 million people are currently providing care for a chronically ill, disabled or aged family member or friend and the average cost of an Assisted Living Community today is $3,200.00 per month. Families are stunned to discover that this VA benefit could pay for over 50% of long-term care costs for their loved one. The benefits are the same, regardless of where the care is being received. It doesn't matter whether the caregiver is licensed or unlicensed. Even a non-dependent family member can be a caregiver. What incredibly wonderful news this is for financially burdened family members. All of this is free. Just go to our web-site and get started."

Bolser, who is an Accredited VA Claims Agent, says, "We all share a responsibility in getting this wonderful message out to senior veterans, surviving spouses and their families throughout the country."
