Uber has been the talk of the tech town these past couple weeks. We learned this week that the car service app is currently looking to raise over $500 million in funding. This round of funding could value the startup at more than $12 billion. via WSJ
FACEBOOK SNAPCHAT
After officially killing off Facebook Poke, Facebook is set to release a new video-chat app similar to Snapchat. Known internally as Slingshot, the project has been under the direct supervision of Mark Zukerberg. Look for the new app in the next couple weeks. via Business Insider
APPLE BUG FIX
Former iPhone users who've switched over to Android have been suffering from an annoying problem lately: whenever a current iPhone user sends them a message, it gets lost within iMessage. Apple has recognized the problem and is reportedly looking to fix the glitch. via Re/code
SURFACE PRO 3
Microsoft announced its 3rd generation Surface tablet on Tuesday, the Surface Pro 3. The new tablet runs Windows 8.1 Pro and early reports say its thinner, faster, and lighter than the Surface Pro 2. via Business Insider
TUNNEL VISION
VentureBeat, our buddies in the Fueled Collective, recently introduced us to the app Tunnel Vision. With the app, users can point their smartphone camera at an image of the New York City transit system and the app automatically overlays information about the map via data from the MTA. Tunnel Vision features some interesting information including official schedules, estimated number of riders, and datasets on median income and rent prices. via VentureBeat
