The Seguso Experience: "Night in the Furnace"

Online, September 5, 2012 (Newswire.com) - The inauguration of the event "Seguso Experience", on 27 August 2012, was an extraordinarily lively night for the 600 year passion of the Seguso family and Murano, because for the first time the doors of the furnace were opened during the evening. An important success for Seguso and for the whole island, as the many guests who visited the furnace were captured by its intense emotion and vibrancy.

Seguso Experience is the concept for the evenings following the inauguration of August 27 and will continue every evening from 9 pm until midnight by appointment through September 10. It has been accepted with enthusiasm by architects, journalists and fans of the art of glass that certainly did not expect, as everyone has said, to embark on a similar journey of experience. Wearing a helmet mandatory for entering the furnace, in small groups, the guests were led along a path that called upon all of the senses, surrounded by the reddish glow of the fire, captured by the skilled hands and gestures of the masters, stage by stage they discovered the phases of the glass making process and above all the passion that the Seguso family and its employees have for this art. The suggestion of the furnace, already unique thanks to the atmosphere created by the night, is made even more intense by a scene specifically designed to create emotions: grand chandeliers hanging from the ceiling that display themselves in all their transparency, verses of poetry by artist Giampaolo Seguso dedicated to the island of Murano and glass are drawn with white chalk on the floor, and the smell of myrrh fills the dense air of the furnace.

Enthusiastic comments of the guests - many of them foreigners - but also those of the Seguso family.
