The Latest Review of Dingoo A320

Dingoo A320 is the perfect combination of a PMP (personal media player) and a retro gaming console. That is to say, it can play/view media such as videos, music, pictures, text, and emulate tons of retro consoles.

Having put my money down to secure a Pandora I'm finally commited to the inevitable but hopefully short wait for the console to be tweaked, finalised, approved and shipped. To pass the time and feed my hunger for some open source console goodness I decided to try and get my hands on a fresh face to the community; the Dingoo A320 and produce a Dingoo A320 review.

At first glance the Dingoo A320 is just another cheap Chinese MP4 player, and I suppose at heart that's exactly what it is. But, Dingoo Digital, the A320s makers have excellently demonstrated that a cheap MP4 player doesn't have to be a poor product.

Actually, the Dingoo A320 is the perfect combination of a PMP (personal media player) and a retro gaming console. That is to say, it can play/view media such as videos, music, pictures, text, and even some SWF (flash) files. On the gaming side, it has the ability to emulate tons of retro consoles, including:

• GBA
• NES
• Neo Geo
• SNES
• CPS1
• CPS2
• Sega Mega Drive/Genesis
• Game Boy
• Game Boy Color
• More (work is being done to emulate more systems)

I love my Dingoo. I was amazed by it's build quality and emulating features. At around ~$80, it's a steal. Being able to play your games on a large TV is also awesome. It's ability to accept multiple video and music formats make it a convenient media player as well. Again, I love it!
