The Healing Place of Wake County Celebrates 10 Years of Service

The celebration activities begin at The Healing Place of Wake County as board, clients, staff, volunteers and financial supporters commemorate 10 years of service to the homeless.

On a cold, winter morning on January 15, 2001 the Men's Facility at The Healing Place of Wake County opened its doors and welcomed the first of hundreds of men and women that have sought shelter from the elements and began a journey for a new life through The Healing Place recovery and rehabilitation programs. Today, The Healing Place is launching a series of events throughout the year that will highlight this anniversary. In addition, alumni, staff, volunteers and supporters are also celebrating the fifth year anniversary of the Women's Facility in 2011.

As on former client stated, "The program at The Healing Place saved my life and allowed me to reunite with my family. This anniversary celebration not only allows me to personally say thank you to The Healing Place, it allows all of us to celebrate the positive impact this program continues to have on our community. Without The Healing Place, there would simply be more homeless individuals on our streets."
