The latest on Thursday, May 31, involved 16 volunteers from Empire Cares spent the late morning and early afternoon cleaning up Hoboken Cove. The beach, located just East of the Maxwell Place compound on the Hudson River, was littered with debris, driftwood and old leaves from the winter and needed sprucing up for the summer.
Armed with heavy gloves, contractor bags and rakes, the Realtors climbed over rocks and took turns dragging the bags up the sandy beach in the hot sun. As the 16 volunteers were finishing up, a class from Connors School descended on the beach to play in the sand.
