Admissions at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) University have begun. Aspirants can apply for admission to any programme in MSc, MTech, MA, MBA, advanced PG diploma and PhD by April 25. Candidates are selected through a Common Entrance Test, conducted in May every year.

"The admission process this year will have a greater focus on assessing a candidate's passion and inclination towards various programmes he/she has applied for. While the Common Entrance Test will continue, great stress will be put on marks obtained in school and at the Bachelor's level, as well as on interaction with a committee of faculty members through an interview on a face-to-face basis or on Skype," informs Rajiv Seth, registrar, TERI University.

Those interested in urban development and management can look forward to the institution's newest programme in this area. "MTech in urban development and management will give students the flexibility to not just learn but also put into practice what they learn through a year-long project using a multidisciplinary approach,"informs Seth.

The university will admit up to 30 students in the new programme; the eligibility criteria for application include a BE/BTech in any branch/discipline, BArch, BPlanning or Masters or an equivalent degree in science.

TERI University has made its application process online to a great extent. Candidates can fill the application online, including submitting a photograph electronically. The application fee can be paid online or by a demand draft. Documents including academic certificates are physically verified at the time of registration.

"The TERI University website (www.teriuniversity.ac.in) is interactive and gives detailed information on the admission process, how to apply, career options and how to choose a programme. It also allows for an online chat or an offline message, which can be left and will be responded to in due course," concludes Seth.
