Teleperformance Celebrates First Anniversary of Gawad Kalinga Project

More homes and community facilities built through generous contributions of Teleperformance employees

Teleperformance, the world's leading provider of outsourced customer experience management services, recently celebrated the first anniversary of its adopted Gawad Kalinga community, the Teleperformance COTW Village in Tanay, Rizal.

Citizen of the World (COTW), the corporate social responsibility arm of Teleperformance, established the Village in August 2010 with the goal of supporting the families displaced by typhoon Ondoy in 2009. Since then, twenty homes have been built for these families and the village has flourished as a productive community. This was made possible by the thousands of volunteer hours and financial contributions from Teleperformance people across the Philippines, as well as donations by Teleperformance employees from around the world.

The first anniversary celebration of the Teleperformance COTW Village was highlighted by the inauguration of the community center that houses the SIBOL pre-school classroom, library, and multi-purpose hall. Leading the ribbon-cutting ceremony were Teleperformance Philippines Managing Director Brian Johnson, Citizen of the World Philippines President Jeffrey Johnson, Tanay Mayor Rafael Tanjuatco, and Gawad Kalinga Partnerships Manager Tito Cajulis.

Commenting on the milestone event, Brian Johnson stated, "We at Teleperformance are humbled and thankful to contribute to this great effort - to improve and rebuild the community and create an impact in the lives of its people."

Jeffrey Johnson added, "I thank our Gawad Kalinga partners for the opportunity they have given Teleperformance to help families and communities in Tanay. I am also grateful to the residents of the Teleperformance COTW Village for their hospitality every time members of the company visit the community."

"The local government of Tanay expresses its gratitude for the generous support of Teleperformance in building the community," remarked Mayor Rafael Tanjuatco. Brian Johnson also emphasized the company's ongoing commitment to complete the construction of 100 houses, and its continued involvement in rebuilding the lives of the residents of Teleperformance COTW Village through its various social responsibility programs.

The anniversary event was attended by Teleperformance officers and employees, as well as members of the local and barangay council of Tanay. Adding color to the festivities were performances by Teleperformance employees and the Teleperformance COTW Village youth groups - SIBOL and CYD Kids, SAGIP Kids and SIGA Teens.
