Today, most of us look to a screen for to gain our information, and that includes our real estate research. Property values, community demographics, and market trends are just a few of the main areas buyers and sellers research online.

The 2013 National Association of Realtors, or NAR, Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers Report stated that 42% of home buyers started their search for properties online, an increase from 35% in 2011. In addition, 89% of home buyers used online resources and a realtor when looking for a home, while the usage of Internet in the home increased to 92% over the past three years.

Almost all buyers also reported that the online soures they found were the most useful tool in the home buying process. This shows us just how crucial properly utilizing technology is to the real estate industry.

The NAR report also highlighted the importance of photos when buyers are looking for a home. The report stated that 83% of buyers listed photos as 'very useful' and 15% listed photos as 'somewhat useful', while 79% of buyers listed detailed information about the property as 'very useful'.

This demonstrates the sheer impact that photography has on a person's decision to research further into a property. Realty websites with well-presented, staged photos of a home will increase the perceived home value.
