Washington, DC - October , 8 2009 - DC Indie band, Sweet Tea Pumpkin Pie, have coordinated an eclectic lineup to join them for the "All Corners" show on October 16th at The Red and The Black. The lineup features top indie acts from around the nation, hence the "All Corners" theme.

Sweet Tea Pumpkin Pie, who conceived the national show, will play the third set that evening. With one foot solidly set in true rock roots and one in torrid experimentation, they will put their innate diversity on display. The band, a formulation of differing yet cohesive approaches, blends screams with sweet, soothing vocals as guitar driven rock gives way to more complex arrangements. Drummer, Brian Moran, feels that the mix of people in Sweet Tea Pumpkin Pie is to their advantage. "Each of us either has extensive training in their instrument, or extensive practice with being/playing in a band. A randomly formed group of seasoned musicians is just plain sexy."
Keyboardist Jan Zhan agrees, stating in an interview, "We don't subscribe to a specific genre, not out of rebellion or arrogance, but simply because we can't with the scope of our individual tastes. We strive, above all else, to sound good and be loud with what we have. Sometimes we recall the European folk horns of Beirut, the visceral vocals of Modest Mouse, the glorious summits of Sigur Ros, the contemplative inertia of Tarentel, or whatever else we enjoy playing."
Headlining the evening will be Little Tybee, from Atlanta Georgia. A sum of parts that have been through previous iterations, Little Tybee is the culmination of maturity in their musicianship and vision. They are currently on an East Coast tour now through the end of October.
Rounding out the bill is Happy Hollows, from California, with spunky lead singer/guitarist, Sarah Negahdari, displaying her frenetic energy over their fast-paced songs. Finally, Me and My Arrow will open the evening, representing Minneapolis, MN at the "All Corners" show.
The "All Corners" show is also noted for having two bands featuring a lot of musicians in their live performances; Sweet Tea Pumpkin Pie with eight and Me and My Arrow with seven. Both bands have string sections and many orthodox and unorthodox instrument arrangements, producing complex, diverse and unique sounds.
Tickets are $8 each. Doors open at 8:30, the first band hits the stage at 9PM.
