Southwest Florida Women Create Event to Help Women Create Retirement Plans

A group of Naples, Fla. women have partered together to host a three part panning series focused on assisting women with creating their best possible retirement plan.

A new kind of retirement planning is in town thanks to Women of Excellence, a three-part planning series for women age 55 and older. Imagine the life you want and deliver it. It's simple ladies.

The free planning series begins on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 10:30 a.m. and will be hosted at the Philharmonic Center for the Arts. Organizers promise to deliver tips on health, wealth and wisdom with guidance for creating a long term, life care plan. The three Women of Excellence events include lunch and a private tour of the Patty & Jay Baker Museum of Art.

Event organizers met through the Collier County Interagency Council and learned they shared a passion to help fellow women make their retirement dreams a reality.

Presenter Bernadette La Paglia, known for motivational speaking and passion for life, serves as community liaison for Hodges at Naples Memorial Gardens, a Dignity Memorial provider.

"It's all about motivating women to include creativity, health, spirituality and activity in their plans for retirement," La Paglia said. "It requires passion and drive."

Like many medical professionals, panel experts agree that an active lifestyle wards off health deterioration and allows retirees to enjoy a longer and healthy life with the opportunity to develop new and exciting hobbies.

"Women have a longer life expectancy than men and so all of us involved with Women of Excellence are enthusiastic about presenting unique, fun and interactive ways to learn about the serious business of planning," said Financial Advisor Jennifer O'Dell of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

Other panelists include Pam Fultz of The Terraces at Bonita Springs, Geraldine Novy of Pinwheel Presentations, Mary Watts of Assisting Hands Home Care, accountant Angela Kidd, elder and estate attorney Beth Prather and care coordinator Jeannie Coleman.

The Women of Excellence series is comprised of three life planning events focusing on 'Health, Wealth and Wisdom' respectively: Wednesdays, Feb. 9; March 2 and April 6, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Philharmonic Center for the Arts located at 5833 Pelican Bay Blvd., Naples, Fl. Each session includes lunch and a private tour of the Patty & Jay Baker Museum of Art.

The Women of Excellence is a free series, but space is limited. Submit a reservation by calling Mary Watts at (239) 293-4661 at least one week in advance of sessions. Reservations for the entire series are also welcome.
