New Jersey solar industry gets new O&M partner with Solar Maid. Starting in 2012, The Solar Maid Company will provide janitorial solar service throughout the entire state of NJ. With many big, west coast solar companies looking eastward for market ex

The solar industry in the state of New Jersey welcomes new janitorial solar service provider, Solar Maid with open arms." The overwhelming welcome has been a bit humbling, we announced our expanded service that covers the entire state of NJ and the contract prospects have been coming in non-stop for several weeks" said Jenny Rose, the marketing manager at Solar Maid.

Solar Maid now has operators in both the Northern and Southern regions of the state which are capable of covering all commercial and utility customers as well as the residential PPA market. Solar Maid is a unique company specializing in the janitorial solar O&M services, such as panel washing, vegetation abatement, security, snow removal and many other secondary aftermarket services.

"Our position in the market gives us a true advantage over the competition because we manage all projects from our main office, so our customers with multiple solar assets in various locations only need to work with one contractor, which can be a tremendous value for O&M managers who have systems in many different places. Most of our major customers on the west coast have now opened operations on the east coast and they know that Solar Maid will provide the same exceptional service no matter where their customers may be located" said Ms. Rose.

Solar Maid has developed a business model that truly reflects the evolution of the entire solar industry, by first developing a network of Solar Maid operators that now spans over 40 service locations in 4 countries. Efforts to develop additional operations in regions of heavy solar activity is an ongoing process, but having extensive coverage in the two leading solar states is big win for Solar Maid.

With a bit of excitement in her voice, Ms. Rose was happy to share information concerning the NJ solar market. "We had an operation in Northern, NJ for almost a year and as with most new operations it takes a little time to develop, but now that we have operations in both the north and south, our ability to market to the entire state of NJ adds tremendous credibility for our company. Unlike the California market from 5 years ago, we are now an established company working for some of the biggest names in the industry, so our expectations for a fast start in NJ are pretty high."

New Jersey is the second most active state for solar development and janitorial solar companies like Solar Maid should do very well. Recent research of solar O&M contracts and the system budgeting procedures show a major change from just a couple of years ago in that all the contracts reviewed included a washing component and that is good news for janitorial service companies.
