Samaritan Ministries 'Best Christian Workplace' For Fifth Year

Samaritan Ministries International has been certified as a "Best Christian Workplace" for the fifth consecutive year.

PEORIA, IL-Samaritan Ministries International has been certified as a "Best Christian Workplace" for the fifth consecutive year.

The health care sharing ministry, founded by Ted Pittenger in 1994, recently received this certification from the Best Christian Workplaces Institute. Samaritan was one of 21 Christian organizations to achieve this designation.

"It's very gratifying to be certified as a Best Christian Workplace again this year," Pittenger said. "Of course, it is not surprising that I would think that Samaritan Ministries is a great place to work. But it is good to know that the values we embrace as a ministry apparently resonate with those working for us. The Best Christian Workplace survey gives us a tool that reinforces and confirms the things that we are doing well. It also gives us clear feedback on areas that need improvement. We plan to work on those areas, and not become stagnant, or rest on our laurels."

Human Resources director Justin Easley said the certification is evidence of God's blessing.

"This achievement is evidence that operating an organization according to Biblical principles can be a blessing to the staff members," Easley said. "Sticking to a Biblical model and sticking to our core values in cooperation with our staff is worth the effort, and I think the survey shows that."

To be designated a Best Christian Workplace, organizations participate in the Best Christian Workplace Institute's employee engagement survey and meet predetermined standards of excellence. Staff members respond to a 50-question online confidential survey addressing issues such as job satisfaction, commitment, Christian witness, supervisory effectiveness, work satisfaction, personal growth and development, management effectiveness, customer/supporter satisfaction, teamwork, communications, and pay and benefits.

Samaritan Ministries International seeks to help members of the Body of Christ carry out the Great Commission through ministries that enable Christians to better obey Jesus' commands. This is currently done through the Christian Health Care Newsletter health care sharing ministry and the Morning Center maternity hospital ministry.
