Samaritan A 'Best Christian Workplace' For Fourth Straight Year

Samaritan Ministries International has been named a Best Christian Workplace for 2011.

Samaritan Ministries International has once again been named a Best Christian Workplace.

This is the fourth consecutive year the 17-year-old ministry, which has 69 employees, has earned the listing through the Best Christian Workplaces Institute's survey process. Samaritan is one of 29 U.S. employers listed in the 2011 results.

Human Resources director Justin Easley said being included in the annual listing is a boost to the ministry.

"It certainly helps attract quality candidates for open positions, but, more importantly, it shows that our staff truly enjoys working here and serving our members," Easley said.

The anonymous survey results also serve as "a barometer for how engaged our employees are and to see if there are areas that we can improve on to make this an even better place to work," he added.

"When we receive the survey scores every year, we sit down with our entire management team to see what we are doing well and what our staff members would like to see us do better in the coming year," Easley said. "It's another opportunity for staff members to have a voice in how things operate and how we shape the workplace culture."

The surveys cover various work issues, including job satisfaction, Christian witness, personal growth and development, teamwork, and pay and benefits. Employees answer more than 50 questions.

"We salute this year's Best Christian Workplaces for their intentional efforts to nurture organizational culture that reflects Christian values; especially in a difficult economy," said Al Lopus, president of BCWI. "One benefit of a healthy organizational culture is that it translates to meaningful ministry growth, based on our research."

Samaritan Ministries International seeks to help members of the Body of Christ carry out the Great Commission through ministries that enable Christians to better obey Jesus' commands. This is currently done through the Christian Health Care Newsletter health care sharing ministry and The Morning Center maternity hospital ministry.
