Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo Is Rocking Out-Patient Chemo Rooms At Marin General
Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo believes patients undergoing chemotherapy and their families should have the most calming, healing and nurturing environment possible, and will soon be redecorating 6 chemo rooms at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae, CA.
Online, March 16, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Spaces are being created at Marin General Hospital's Out-Patient Chemotherapy Unit where the focus is on renewal of health, hope, love and life, one room at a time. Participating designers are Shelly Pintabona of VMI architecture, Inc.; Kelly Berg, Interior Deesigner and Color Expert; Ashley Roi Jenkins of Ashley Roi Jenkins Design; Michel Dugan of Red Studio LLC; Marsha Heckman; Kathy Bloodworth of Kathy Bloodworth Interior Design; Beryn Hammil of Beryn Hammil Designs; JoAnn Hartley; and Kristi Stanford. The Marin General Project Manager is Jennifer Hershon of H2 Hershon Home.
Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo, a Not For Profit organization, was founded by Nancy Ballard, who is also the organization's Executive Director. Earlier this year Ms. Ballard received the Jefferson Award for her pioneering efforts to create spaces where patients, family members and friends can gather to provide support in a healing and nurturing environment. Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo connects interior designers with hospitals and clinics that provide out-patient chemotherapy. Recently completed chemotherapy rooms in San Francisco and Marin County have already hosted over 9,000 patient visits. Nancy Ballard is currently in El Salvador by invitation, working with the local community and The Cancer Institute of El Salvador to bring her vision to that community, and upon her return, she will be working at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, CA.
Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo is a volunteer organization operating through contributions, in-kind donations, and proceeds from fund-raising events. They do not receive state or federal funding and are solely dependent on contributions from the community, individuals and corporations
