Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) and Mowgli Foundation, the UK-headquartered mentoring organization that recruits, trains and matches mentors with entrepreneurs across the MENA region, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) upon which QRCE, Mowgli Foundation's sole strategic partner in Jordan, will organize and implement the Foundation's projects and programs in the Kingdom.
Signed by QRCE's Executive Director, Eng. Farhan Kalaldeh, and Mowgli Foundation's CEO, Helen Al-Uzaizi, the MoU seeks to inspire entrepreneurs and empower them to achieve their business and personal potential, while creating quality jobs and encouraging sustainable social and economic development.
Upon the MoU, Mowgli Foundation will transfer its expertise, knowledge, tools and training to QRCE's concerned members to help them run mentoring programs in the manner prescribed by Mowgli. Whereas QRCE will be responsible for promoting the benefits of mentoring and mentor training programs among entrepreneurs and start-up owners as well as prompting them to take part in the workshops which will be held by QRCE under the supervision and guidance of Mowgli representatives.
In his comment, Kalaldeh said: "We are pleased to partner with Mowgli Foundation which has developed a unique mentoring model in the MENA region over the years. We are excited about offering the Mowgli Mentoring Experience (MME) in Jordan and adding more value to Jordanian entrepreneurs and startups."
Kalaldeh noted that the MME program aims to nurture mentors to excel in their mentoring relationships before matching them with entrepreneurs willing to develop successful and sustainable businesses with opportunities for job and economic generation.
Upon signing the MoU, Al-Uzaizi said: "We continuously strive to place mentoring at the heart of entrepreneurship and leadership development across the MENA region. Since 2008, we have worked hard to build the critical support needed to encourage the growth of SME's, which we believe are the backbone of sustainable economic and social development."
"Through partnering with QRCE, we strongly believe that we will be able to further enhance and expand our programs in Jordan and support the development of the local entrepreneurship ecosystem. We are keen on developing local programs, with local partners to support Jordan's entrepreneurial vision. This is a real milestone for us and we are eager and excited at the prospects," Al-Uzaizi added.
For his part, the CEO of El Hassan Science City, Eng. Omar Hamarneh, said: "Our support for this partnership is part of our offering to Jordan's Entrepreneurship Ecosystem. This complements our services aimed at enabling and accelerating the growth of startup companies through incubation, entrepreneurship development programs, commercialization and intellectual property services, and matchmaking opportunities with investors."
It is worth mentioning that Mowgli Foundation is a non-profit mentoring organization, which trains and matches mentors with entrepreneurs across the MENA region, with the aim of facilitating the development and growth of sustainable businesses and encouraging quality job creation.
