On the occasion of World Population Day on July 11, 2015, AlphaOne in association with 94.3 FM raised awareness about the importance of family planning and smaller families, as well as the ill effects of over-population. The awareness campaign was aimed to educate, strengthen and spread the existing setup of facilities available in Government and Private Hospitals for family planning and to increase awareness about growing population issues. The annual celebration of World Population Day at AlphaOne was planned with many activities, games and quizzes to make patrons aware about the reality in an interesting and interactive manner.
World Population Day is an annual event, observed on July 11th every year that seeks to raise awareness of Global Population issues. The event was established by the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989. The theme of World Population Day 2015 was “Vulnerable Populations in Emergencies”.
