United Brotherhood of Carpenters' "Sisters" Join Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

On Sunday, Oct. 4, Sisters in the Brotherhood, a part of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC), will be participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. The event will be held at Six Flags/Great Adventure, Jackson, N.J., and will feature a multitude of races to accommodate all ages and ability levels. This will be the second consecutive year of participation for the Sisters, who have already raised $3,829.

The Sisters’ goal is to double their participation from the previous year. They view their efforts   as a positive step to helping make an impact in the fight against breast cancer. “Support your Sisters in the Brotherhood by lending your support to help cure this cancer,” says John Ballantyne, executive-secretary treasurer, Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters.
