Third Annual Making the Cut Live Hair Show Competition Now Accepting Sponsorships

Industry's First Live Hair Show Competition Created by Scott Fontana, in Association with Cristophe Salon Newport Beach, Invites Stylists to Compete Live On-Stage to be Named Southern California's Top Stylist

The Making the Cut live hair show competition is now accepting sponsors for its third annual event, slated to take place in September 2015 in Los Angeles. Making the Cut is a high-end, professionally produced event that features live hair cutting and styling on stage performed by leading stylists, a live hair and fashion show, and a renowned judging panel comprised of beauty industry elite to name the region’s top stylist. Previously only open to professional hair stylists throughout Orange County, Making the Cut 2015 will be open to stylists throughout Southern California, including Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties. Making the Cut 2015 is now accepting sponsorships, ranging from title sponsors to supporting level sponsors. Sponsors have the opportunity to showcase their brand in front of thousands of salons and stylists, hundreds of consumers on-site, and millions more through media impressions.

Stylists in the Making the Cut live hair show compete for the chance to win cash, prizes, publicity and the title of "Southern California's Top Stylist 2015." Six finalists will be chosen to compete at the live event in September 2015, where a panel of industry professionals and celebrity judges will critique each stylist’s work before transitioning into the live runway show, when stylists will present their full showcase of five models dressed and styled according to a unique theme.

“By broadening the event’s scope to include all of Southern California, and building on the incredible sponsors and judges we had in 2014, the 2015 Making The Cut show will be bigger and better than ever,” said Scott Fontana, creator of the Making The Cut event series. “By attracting top stylists throughout Southern California to compete, our sponsors have the unique opportunity to put their brands and products directly in the hands of the beauty industry’s most influential salons and stylists in the region. The talent we have seen from the Making the Cut competitions is second to none. We look forward to another amazing competition this fall, and could not make it happen without the support of our sponsors.”

Making the Cut is the beauty industry’s first live hair competition of its kind. Last year’s sponsors included L’Oréal, Milani Hair™, Privé Salon and products, Cezanne™ Perfect Finish Keratin Smoothing Treatment, Frankie Rose Cosmetics, Scott Fontana Collection and Cristophe Salon Newport Beach. Making the Cut was first established in 2013 in Orange County, Calif., with the inaugural event hosting hundreds of industry professionals as they watched five stylists compete live on stage at Sutra Nightclub. Thanks to overwhelming demand and popularity, the show expanded in 2014 to host more than 500 industry professionals and consumers, six stylists, more than a dozen sponsors and a judging panel comprised of Scott Fontana, Laurent D. of Prive Salon, Leyla Milani Khoshbin of Milani Hair, and Raha Lewis of People Magazine
