State Rep Geoff Diehl Showcases Pollie Award with Propel Marketing

Massachusetts State Rep Geoff Diehl, a lead sponsor of the campaign against the Automatic Gas Tax Law, visits Propel Marketing to showcase the 2015 Pollie Award that was won for successful campaign efforts.

Propel Political recently hosted Massachusetts State Rep. Geoff Diehl, who helped spearhead the successful ballot initiative that struck down the state’s Automatic Gas Tax Law.

Diehl, a Whitman Republican who served as lead spokesman for TankTheGasTax.org, brought with him the 2015 Pollie Award, a national award the group won for their efforts. The political action committee was named the Ballot Measure Campaign of the Year by the American Association of Political Consultants at its annual awards conference in March.

Propel Political served as social media strategist for the ballot measure, which won at the polls by a 53-47 margin this past November despite being significantly outspent by the opposition.

Diehl said the award reflected what the group was able to accomplish with a limited budget and grassroots-based organization.

“We couldn’t afford the biggest microphone, but Propel Political played a critical role in making our collective voice as loud as possible,” Diehl said. “The team at Propel helped us month after month amplify our message, increase public awareness, promote events, and rally the troops.”

Rick Collins, Propel Political’s Senior Account Manager, said the campaign demonstrated how social media can complement and leverage traditional political outreach strategies.

“Strong, informative, and at times provocative content can really tap into the strength of social media, especially when combined with a passionate, engaged base of followers,” he said.

Propel Political is a division of Propel Marketing, a national provider of online marketing services and products for small and medium-sized businesses. Propel Political is non-partisan, offering digital media strategies and services to candidates, campaigns, and consultants across the political spectrum.
