AlphaOne, Amritsar is hosting a special Independence Day festive extravaganza entailing Patriotic, Socially Responsible & Cultural elements from August 15 - August 17, 2014. These unique initiatives by AlphaOne would provide Amritsaris with fun-filled shopping, entertainment, strong cultural elements and several MC led contests and incentives.

During the Independence Day Festivities at AlphaOne, as is customary, the hoisting of the National Flag with the National Anthem will initiate the proceedings. In consonance with the theme of Independence, AlphaOne for the 2nd consecutive year will also organize a spectacular Art Exhibition, Kala Mela 2014’ from August 15th to 17th with artworks of over 500 renowned artists from over 17 states of India. Kala Mela 2014 will be the largest conglomeration of artists in Amritsar, ably supported by Mr. Brijesh Jolly, Director, KT Kala, Amritsar.

The concept of organizing Kala Mela is highly appreciated by Senior Artists such as Dr. Baldev Gambhir, Dr. Neeta Mohindra from Amritsar,  Dr. D.P Mohanti from Varanasi, Dr. Him Chatterjee (Chairman, Fine Arts Department, Himachal University), Dr. Ram V. Ranjan (Chairman, Fine Arts Department, Kurukshetra University), Mr. Diyandu Paul (Artist, Aggartala, Tripura), Mr. B.R Annapillai (Senior Artist from Chennai), Mr. Harish Srivastava (Senior Artist from Delhi), Mr. Manilal Sabrimala (Senior Artist from Trivandrum, Kerala), Ms. Muthumalamangal Muthiah (from Bangalore) as well as encouraged by  Mrs. Neera Sharma (Principal, DAV Public School, Amritsar). Kala Mela also simultaneously provides a unique platform for young artists and kids to showcase their work by being part of the event alongside the greatest artists of the country. Over 800 kids will benefit from the Kala Mela 2014 by interacting with the participating artists on August 16th and 17th. This is the first time in India when an artist of 8 years will share art space in this exhibition with some artists who are 80 years old.

The celebrations for Independence Day are also being marked as SUPER SALE WEEK, where over 31 brands including S. Oliver, Jack and Jones among others, are giving discounts up to 70% and over 40 brands including Tommy Hilfiger, PUMA, UCB, FCUK, Park Avenue, Pepe, Satguru, et al., will give special discounts up to 50%.  

To further complement this initiative, the Independence celebrations will see a festive extravaganza with special performances by Sufi Singer, Satnam Singh and a dance and cultural show choreographed by Pankaj and Preeti on August 15th. As is customary, AlphaOne will also have a Blood Donation Camp in association with Life Care Hospital.

As a special treat for all, over 40 representatives from 14 countries will showcase their culture and art on August 15th as a cross cultural annual event in association with AISEC Global and the Amritsar Sparkling Be the Change Club. Music, Jives, Meet and Greet, etc. will be the special engagement activities by AISEC and Be the Change Club members during this event.

During the festivities, over 1500 students of various schools from Amritsar, Batala, Tarn Taran and Pathankot are scheduled to visit AlphaOne under recreational activities and avail special recreational packages being offered from ORAMA gaming zone and 5D Cinema. Besides, there will be special combo offers available at Flavours, the Food Court and Bharawan Da Dhaba.

The theme of the venue dressing and ambience for the Independence Day and other Festivities at AlphaOne will be done aesthetically and in keeping with the importance of the national days.
