Say Good-Bye to the Piggy Bank & Hello to Saveup® Banks

The Piggy Bank may be forced into early retirement with the introduction SaveUp Banks, a brand new, cool way to save your coins in see-though, wall-mountable, vertical stacking coin banks.

The piggy bank, long-standing icon for saving coins, could be forced into early retirement with the launch of a new way to save coins with SaveUp ® Banks. These unique and colorful banks are sold exclusively online at www.saveupbanks.com.

Created by former Art Director of The New York Times, James C. Best, Jr., SaveUp ® Banks are transparent, wall-mountable, coin banks.  The patented design allows savers to see each coin stack up vertically as they are saving. Best designed each bank to hold one specific coin denomination. Currently there are three designs: the Twenty Bank, the Rocket Ship Bank, and the Pencil Bank.

“We have developed a product that is fun, colorful, educational and encourages kids to save,” James says. “Our goal is to raise a generation of financially savvy kids one coin at a time.”

Holiday shoppers have the convenience of ordering the banks via the SaveUp ® Banks online store or calling (800) 683-7607.

Each bank is designed using clear acrylic. Highlights of banks:

  • The TWENTY BANK holds 80 quarters equaling $20.  Available in two colors.  Size: 23”H x 5.5”W. RP $35

  • Watch your savings blast off with the ROCKET SHIP BANK. Shaped like a rocket ship with classic colors of red, black and white, it holds 52 quarters for a total of $13. Size:  29”H x 8”W.  RP $38

  • The PENCIL BANK is shaped like a standard pencil and it holds 80 nickels.  Available in three colors (yellow, red, blue). Size: 31”H x 4”W. RP $30

All banks are recommended for ages 8+ and can be hung on virtually any smooth wall surface without nails.
