Renowned Taiwanese Designers Showcase their 2015 Spring Collections at Grand Central Terminal

Esteemed international fashion designers Malan Breton and Alexander King Chen will headline AsianinNY's tenth annual fashion show at the East Side of Vanderbilt Hall within Grand Central Terminal on Saturday, September 27th at 1pm.

Taiwanese born designer Malan Breton is the designer of one of “the 300 most recognized luxury brands in the world” and the “24th most famous celebrity from Taiwan in the world”. Malan Breton has been worn by A-list celebrities around the world including Scarlett Johannson, Ariana Grande, Michael Buble, and Fan Bing Bing, and has costumed AMC’s Breaking Bad , NBC’s Minute to Win It, and more.” His work has been featured in Vogue, ELLE, WWD, COSMOPOLITAN, W Magazine, Vanity Fair, and on every A – list red carpet in the world including the Academy Awards. The Malan Breton runway show will feature his well-known men’s and women’s looks, some worked with the indigenous fabrics of his native home Taiwan. Some of Malan’s prestigious designs were showcased at his own runway show as part of the 2014 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. The theme of the September 27th show is, Malan returns to Taiwan: The Heart of Asia. “The vast cultural influences of Taiwan have always been a part of my fashion collections, the country’s architecture and the native tribes have always provided a wealth of inspiration for me,” said Malan Breton.

Born in the USA, Taiwan-based designer Alexander King Chen is currently one of the most volcanic young fashion designers in the Chinese speaking world. His impressive roster of notworthy Asian celebrity clients include Sandrine Pinna, Barbie Hsu, Terri Kwan, and Mavis Fan. Alexander King Chen proves himself to be a staple to the celebs and the red carpets all over Asia by designing outfits that were worn by stars at many film festivals: Cannes International Film Festival, Hong Kong Film Festival, Shanghai Film Festival, Asia Pacific Film Festival, Busan Film Festival, and the Singapore Film Festival. Starting his strenuous career at the young age of 16, he studied at Central St. Martins University and the London College of Fashion in Great Britain. His resume includes having worked in London, Paris, New York, and Taiwan. Launched in 2009, Alexander King Chen has molded a successful luxury brand that bears his name pushing him forward as an upcoming innovative industry leader.

In addition to having Breton and Chen display their featured designs AsianInNY has recruited talented fashion world experts to contribute to the 10th fashion show. Hairstyles will be done by Haruo Noro Salon, makeup by Cakra Fashion Makeup & Skincare, Jewelry by Jade Chiu and Wendy Chen, and shoes by Schee whose innovative footwear brand gives a percentage of every sale to the charity.

This year the Taiwan Tourism Bureau and America’s national learning hub, the Smithsonian Museum will conduct a cross-industry alliance to promote “Museum Day Live,” where 1,500 museums nationwide participate in promoting culture and history. “Celebrate Taiwan @ Grand Central Terminal,” will highlight Taiwan’s exceptional art, delicious food, and trendy fashion, and will entail thrilling live music and dance performances to share the beauty of the fascinating Taiwanese culture. “Celebrate Taiwan @ Grand Central Terminal” will go from 11am to 2pm.
