Rebuilding Together Atlanta Honors Volunteers at Award Banquet

Rebuilding Together Atlanta will host "A Timeless Treasure", its 1st Annual Volunteer Awards Banquet on Nov. 6, 2014

Rebuilding Together Atlanta (RTA) announced Friday that the organization will host its first annual awards banquet, “A Timeless Treasure”, in honor of volunteers on Nov. 6 at Paschal’s Restaurant. The awards banquet is set to start with a reception at 6 p.m. and end 9 p.m.

“A Timeless Treasure” seeks to celebrate RTA’s most recent accomplishments and to honor volunteers, donors and community friends. Special recognition will be given to seven groups and individuals who have given consistent, sustained, effective and direct service. Festivities at the event will include a buffet dinner, silent auction fundraiser, live music and a cash bar. The silent auction will include items such as an autographed jacket from Richard Patty, an autographed photo of a famous Braves player and a gift card.

Our 'Timeless Treasures' are our volunteers. We are here to recognize them for the first time in many years. All of our volunteers deserve an award, as they have been essential to executing the mission of Rebuilding Together Atlanta.

Jan Jordan, Executive Director

“This year’s awards banquet is way overdue,” said the executive director of RTA Jan Jordan. “Our ‘Timeless Treasures’ are our volunteers. We are here to recognize them for the first time in many years. All of our volunteers deserve an award, as they have been essential to executing the mission of Rebuilding Together Atlanta. They are our lifeline with our programs and support that they have given us over the years has made us possible.”

Jordan and the board of directors also feel that this year, and in years past, contributions from volunteers and donors have made the work of RTA possible for hundred of elderly homeowners in the metro Atlanta area.

Home Depot’s Director of Sales and Business Development John Gordon will also make a special appearance as the keynote speaker and announcer of the nominees and winners of each award category.

Admission to the banquet is $60 and reservation is open until Oct. 27. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.rebuildingtogether-atlanta.org/buy-tickets-now-1st-annual-volunteer-awards-banquet/.

Item donations for the silent auction fundraiser will be accepted through Nov. 3. Financial contributions will also be accepted.  All proceeds from “A Timeless Treasure” will go to RTA in order to further assist the community.
