Rebecca McLendon Grows Wings and Flies Toward the Coveted Number One Spot on Amazon

Rebecca McLendon, author of "The Day I Grew Wings," hits the promotional trail after successful giveaway.

It was announced this week that author Rebecca McLendon would be promoting her first book, “The Day I Grew Wings,” to the new audience she gained over the Christmas break. “The Day I Grew Wings” had an enormously popular free giveaway that catapulted the book up the Amazon rankings and gave it a fresh face for new fans. Readers have been enjoying the book in stronger quantities ever since that promotion.

“The Day I Grew Wings” tells the story of Rebecca McLendon’s journey to become a pilot. Overcoming all obstacles, this is an emotional, inspiring story that has touched all who have read it, and the majority of reviewers have raved about the book.

Rebecca McLendon was born and grew up in Brownsville, Texas, and spent some time in Ft. Worth, Texas. After attending University of Texas in Austin and surviving the turbulent Sixties, she graduated, married, and had three children. She now has 4 grandchildren. She is now a retired Secondary School Teacher of English, Spanish and Art, living with her husband of 47 years outside of Crockett, Texas.

In addition to the success “The Day I Grew Wings” is garnering, Rebecca McLendon is rumored to be working on a new short story that should hit the shelves later in the year.
