No Limits When Monitoring Important Data

Mobile base station facilitates supervision of sensitive data in moving or distant locations

Niddatal (Germany), May 2015 – T&D Corporation, the Japanese market leader for data loggers, presents the RTR-500MBS-A, a mobile base station that works with 3G standard. The new device enables automatic downloading of recorded data and monitoring of current readings during transportation and from locations where LAN connections are impossible.

As part of T&D’s RTR-500 Series, the new mobile base station supports all RTR-500 remote units (which monitor C°, RH%, mA, V, Pulse, UV, Illuminance, CO²) and is able to work with up to 20 of them at a time. The RTR-500MBS-A operates via wireless communication and can be used anywhere in a 3G/2G coverage area, allowing data collection and monitoring without LAN or PC. It automatically forwards current readings and recorded data to the T&D WebStorage Service, so users can access, store and share important data independent of time or location with any browser or via T&D’s Service Viewer app. Some of the base station’s functions can also be operated by SMS command. The T&D WebStorage Service, which offers a capacity of 20 MB per registration as well as the software required to format data into clearly arranged tables and graphs, are both supplied free of charge.

Thanks to the RTR-500MBS-A’s GPS function, it is easy to track data such as temperature and humidity measurements from anywhere and at any time – even during transportation and in out of the way locations such as mountain ranges or at sea. The RTR-500MBS-A also makes it simple to safeguard areas like construction sites and unmanned warehouses without having to make investments in manpower. When a measurement exceeds an upper or lower limit and has been judged by the RTR-500MBS-A to require an alert, a warning report can be sent via e-mail or SMS. Additionally, by connecting a siren or lamp to the external contact output connector, warnings can be released on site so that appropriate action can be taken quickly. The T&D Service Viewer app for mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets enables easy access to data that has been sent to the T&D WebStorage Service.

The wireless communication range of the RTR-500MBS-A, if unobstructed and direct, is about 150 metres and this can be expanded with repeaters. The unit operates with an AC adaptor or an external power source (max 24V). Alternatively, it will also run off four AA alkaline batteries for approximately two days.
