NFL's Jameel McClain (53 Families) Partner With the Rosemark Group and Whole Foods Market to Feed NYC During Thanksgiving Season
Super Bowl Champion & Former NY Giant Jameel McClain will co-sponsor the Fourth Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drive with the Rosemary Group & Whole Foods, on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at 6:30pm at the Polo Grounds Community Center, 2965 Frederick Douglass Blvd, New York City, N.Y. Feeding over 1,000 families in need.
New York, NY, November 2, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Super Bowl Champion & Former New York Giant Jameel McClain will co-sponsor the Fourth Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drive with the Rosemark Group, on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at 6:30pm at the Polo Grounds Community Center, 2965 Frederick Douglass Blvd, New York City, N.Y. The event intended to serve as the "Thanksgiving Dinner" for those who might otherwise go without.
Last year, more than 500 turkeys and trimmings were provided to families at the annual event, enough to feed 3,000 children and families. The Polo Grounds Community Center is hosting the 2015 drive, and Whole Foods Market’s 9 New York City locations have signed on to provide turkey’s and fixins for the event.
"We plan to give away more than 500 turkeys," said Jaclyn Rosenberg, creator of The Turkey Drive, and founder, CEO of The Rosemark Group. "Thanks to our alliance of sponsors, donors and volunteers, attendees will also receive a variety of organic & antibiotic free, healthy side dishes this year."
McClain’s 53 Families Foundation, is a longtime partner of The Rosemark Group. The foundation’s staff and leadership will assist with food assembly and distribution at the drive. Also accompanying the foundation at the drive will be NFL’s Jonathan Casillas, Jay Bromley, Rueben Randle, and NFL New York Jets’ veteran, Tony Richardson, among others.
The Children’s Village Organization works directly with New York City neighborhoods, through a wide range of programs and services that cater to families, children and teens. The center is operated in conjunction with the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), as well as the NYC Housing Authority (NYCHA).
The Rosemark Group is a boutique real estate firm that specializes in athlete relocation. Founder and CEO, Jaclyn Rosenberg sits on the Leadership Council for the Children’s Village and has been an active member in the Harlem Community for many years.
Jameel McClain has channeled his experiences and lessons into dedicating himself to the community and giving to those less fortunate. For him, it was about helping others overcome the various adversities he had experienced in his own journey. Jameel has implemented an annual “Back to School” drive, a Holiday Gift Distribution and the annual “53 Families Dinner” in partnership with the Salvation Army. The Jameel McClain Foundation continues to be committed to providing resources and education for at risk youth.
