New Website Helps New Jersey Residents Get Out and "Plant Something"

NJ launches the "Plant Something" website to get people outdoors!

Envious of your neighbor’s landscaping? Feel like growing your own veggies, but don’t know where to start?  A new website (http://www.plantsomethingnj.org) aims to give New Jersey homeowners all the tools they need to get out and Plant Something!

It’s part of the New Jersey Nursery and Landscape Association’s (NJNLA) statewide Plant Something™ campaign.

"The Plant Something website is designed to resonate with people who might not be your typical gardeners. We want to connect with non-gardeners and give them the tools and information they need to begin improving their lives through landscaping and planting."

Dominick Mondi, NJNLA Executive Director

The website is a resource for consumers and students that promotes the benefit of plants, thanks to a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. These benefits include higher property values, increased health and well being, and improved environmental quality -- not to mention the fun and satisfaction that come from planting something and watching it grow.

"The Plant Something website is designed to resonate with people who might not be your typical gardeners," NJNLA Executive Director Dominick Mondi said. "We want to connect with non-gardeners and give them the tools and information they need to begin improving their lives through landscaping and planting."

The website provides numerous resources for consumers, educators and the trade.  It also features a NJ Retail Nurseries and Garden Centers Guide.

The New Jersey Nursery and Landscape Association is a 450-member trade association representing the nursery, greenhouse, landscape, and retail garden center industries in the Garden State.  The NJNLA’s goal is to advance the commercial horticulture industry through networking, education, promotion and advocacy.
