Metro Mutts Co-Sponsors Beagle Freedom Event
Washington, DC pet product retailer and pet services provider, Metro Mutts, announced their support and sponsorship for the first annual Red, White, and Beagle event on July, 25, 2015. The event will celebrate and raise funds for the Beagle Freedom Project, an organization that rescues and re-homes Beagles from research laboratories.
Washington, DC, July 13, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Washington, DC pet product retailer and pet services provider, Metro Mutts, announced their support and sponsorship for the first annual Red, White, and Beagle event on July, 25th, 2015.
This event - a fundraiser for the Beagle Freedom Project - celebrates Beagle freedom and protests the use of animals in product testing and research. It will be held from 6 - 10 pm at River Farm, 7931 E. Boulevard Drive in Alexandria, VA.

The Beagle Freedom Project first rescued 7 Beagles from a research laboratory in 2013, where the pups had lived their entire lives, many experiencing the fears and horrors of animal product testing on a regular basis. The dogs in that first rescue came to be known as the DC7.
"Beagles are highly desired by research laboratories," says Metro Mutts owner, Kelly Hartshorn, "because they are so gentle. They have a trusting nature and love people. We applaud the work of the Beagle Freedom Project. They are our heroes!"
The DC7 had never set foot outside the laboratory; never touched grass or felt a fresh breeze. They were unaccustomed to caring human contact, but true to the nature of Beagles, they remained gentle during rescue and began to overcome their fears in response to the skilled handling by their rescuers .
The "Red, White, and Beagle" event will include a guest appearance by the DC7 Beagles, all of whom are now living in homes throughout the East Coast.
