Students, teachers, and the general population are experiencing the need and requirement for education in a drastically different way, as current and emerging technologies are altering the way in which learning and training content is being delivered and received.

Today, education is evolving as a result of the combination of open source technology, the Internet , mobile and multi-faceted technology, virtual learning environments and learning analytic technology in the education sector, with education becoming individualized, customized and more accessible to everyone, said Wemel Cumavoo, co-founder and CEO, LTT Global Communications.

He added, new innovation and complexities emerging in education as a result of the collaboration of these technologies are changing the landscape of education and will be pivotal in achieving the United Nation’s sustainable development goals (SDGs) for Education.

The VIP Fellowship program is a Malaysian government initiative to create a large pool of talented professionals who are passionate about sharing their expertise and experiences globally. The aim of the program is to evoke long-term social change in the country by drawing on the expertise of volunteers to addressing Malaysia’s most pressing social issues.

This initiative is part of the government’s goal to transform Malaysia into a high-income nation by 2020, as announced by Malaysia’s Prime Minister, DatoSri Najib Razak, at the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) Summit in December 2013.

The Fellowship program is designed and delivered by Impact HUB Kuala Lumpur and Scope Group on behalf of the Ministry of Finance Malaysia. International expert volunteers and local expert volunteers had an opportunity to share and transfer valuable skills and knowledge, which helped to enrich the Malaysian landscape, contributing towards the country’s ambition of being a high-income nation. They received their Certificates of Appreciation from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak during the launching of the Malaysian Social Enterprise Blueprint recently.
