April marks the 30th annual National Minority Health Month, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
During National Minority Health Month in April, the HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH) joins with its partners in raising public awareness about health and health care disparities that continue to affect racial and ethnic minorities and efforts to advance health equity.

More than 30 percent of cancer could be prevented, mainly by not using tobacco, having a healthy diet, being physically active and moderating the use of alcohol, according to the WHO.
