He has served as Deputy Supervisor of the Town of Smithtown, Village trustee of the Village of the Branch, and Special Counsel to the Speaker of the New York State Assembly. He is a member of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers and of the Suffolk County and Nassau County Bar Associations.
Ziegler currently serves as Village Justice for the Village of Nissequogue. As a Village Justice, Mr. Ziegler was appointed by the Chief Administrative Judge of the State of New York to serve on the Office of Court Administration's Local Courts Advisory Committee, which annually reviews proposals for changes in the law and makes recommendations to the New York State Legislature. He has lectured to judges on legal topics at the Office of Court Administration's Continuing Judicial Education Programs.
