Innovators Showcase to Feature Chuck Hull

On-stage Interview with the father of stereolithography, Chuck Hull, will be a highlight of four-day conference agenda that includes over 200 presentations and workshops.

The Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) today announced that a feature of its conference agenda will be a “fireside chat” with Chuck Hull, the inventor of stereolithography and 3D Systems’ executive vice president and chief technology officer. The on-stage interview of Mr. Hull will be one of over 200 information exchange activities at the 27th annual AMUG Conference, which will be held April 19 – 23, 2015, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Chuck Hull, a recent inductee to the National Inventors Hall of Fame (NIHF), will be interviewed during the conference’s Innovators Showcase on Wednesday, April 22nd. Through the dialogue, attendees will venture into the early days when Chuck was developing stereolithography, giving life to a new industry and overcoming the challenges that innovators face. Chuck will also offer insights through present day with the intent to share his experiences so that they may guide others.

We are ecstatic that Chuck Hull has agreed to join us for the first-ever Innovators Showcase. With the rapid expansion of the industry, few would have an opportunity to hear what's on the mind of the father of stereolithography.

Mark Barfoot, President

Mark Barfoot, AMUG president, said, “We are ecstatic that Chuck Hull has agreed to join us for the first-ever Innovators Showcase. With the rapid expansion of the industry, few would have an opportunity to hear what’s on the mind of the father of stereolithography.” Barfoot continued, “While this will be a highlight of the AMUG Conference, it is just one of over 200 presentations and hands-on workshops that we will offer.”

Designed for both novice and experienced additive manufacturing users, the conference agenda topics range from technology basics to advanced applications to business considerations. With up to 12 concurrent sessions each day, attendees will have a broad selection of topics from which to choose. There will also be a wide range of hands-on workshops for applications such as post processing, hydrographic printing, urethane molding and metal casting. To validate knowledge and be recognized for it, SME will offer its Additive Manufacturing Certificate Program.

The AMUG conference will also feature its annual Technical Competition with awards for exemplary applications of additive manufacturing and superior part finishing. The competition provides a forum for users of additive manufacturing technologies to display their prowess with the technology.
