Hundreds Tour New Charter School Elementary and High School That Will Open This August

On June 25th, over 700 people attended the open house and construction tours of the two new American Leadership Academy (ALA) campuses in San Tan Valley. ALA, a tuition-free public charter school, is increasing the educational opportunities that San Tan Valley by opening up a brand new K-6 elementary and a 7-12 high school on August 10. A series of open houses and tours have been planned in order to showcase the schools to the public.

On June 25th, over 700 people attended the open house and construction tours of the two new American Leadership Academy (ALA) campuses in San Tan Valley. Tours of the new elementary and high schools were led by future students, including the football team.

ALA, a tuition-free public charter school, is increasing the educational opportunities that San Tan Valley by opening up a brand new K-6 elementary and a 7-12 high school on August 10. A series of open houses and tours have been planned in order to showcase the schools to the public.

“The facilities are amazing,” said executive director and high school principal Bill Guttery. “Construction has been on schedule and will be completed on time.” 

Faculty and administration were available to answer questions from parents and students concerning athletics, fine arts, uniforms, academic programs, and enrollment.

ALA will host an additional open house with tours on July 16 from 6-8pm. This will be the last opportunity to tour the facilities before its official opening. The elementary school is expected to be completed at that time, with the high school being finished by the beginning of August.

ALA is a full-service, non-profit classical education K-12 school district. These two new campuses will be the seventh and eighth campuses built since 2009. The elementary and high school will feature secure facilities with a brand new traffic signal on Combs Road. The complex will house 84 classrooms totaling 194,000 square feet, including a performance auditorium with stadium seating. Athletic facilities will include football, baseball, and softball fields, as well as a 55,000 square foot athletic building with two full-size indoor basketball courts and a 3,500 square foot exercise room.

“It was exciting to see all the families’ come through the doors,” said Guttery. “This facility will be a landmark in this community for years to come.”
