The 3rd North India Real Estate Conclave and Awards 2015 brought together policy makers and industry stalwarts on one platform to discuss various issues, responsibilities and opportunities in the Indian real estate sector. The panel discussions witnessed some of the most prominent personalities of the real estate sector. An area of major emphasis was the several reasons and advantages of Green Buildings, and the urgency to make green practices mainstream. Besides, there was a crucial and honest panel discussion on the ongoing prolonged slowdown in the real estate sector.

The first panel discussion on “Is the real estate sector recovering from recession?”was moderated by Mr. Manish Aggarwal, Executive Director, Cushman & Wakefield India. The notable speakers included, Mr. SK Sayal, CEO & MD, Bharti Realty; Mr. Vineet Relia, MD, Saare Homes, Mr. Neeraj Gulati, MD, Assotech Realty, Mr. Tarun Mehrotra, Corporate Advisor, Mr. Deepak Kumar, Director, Gulshan Homes & President, CREDAI Western UP and Mr. Rajiv Goyal, Architect. The second panel discussion on “Road Map: Advantages of Commercial Leasing and Advantages of Green Buildings” was moderated by Mr. Dheeraj Dogra, MRICS- Global Realty & Retail Analyst and the notable speakers were Mr. Rohan Sharma, Associate Director, JLL; Mr. Amit Srivastava, VP-Retail, BPTP; Ms. Parul Ahuja, Associate Director, CBRE; Mr. Thomas John, Associate Director, Realistic Realtors; Mr. Salil Kumar, Director, Assotech. The participants discussed the current real estate scenario, while also suggesting the future course of action under both topics besides spontaneously responding to the queries from the knowledgeable audience. The audience was from the real estate industry along with stalwarts from corporate, administrative, financial and banking fields. The Awards night also served as an opportunity to celebrate excellence and exchange ideas for future growth and innovation with like-minded professionals from the industry.

The Awards honoured professional developers as well as those from allied industries who have made a lasting difference in the lives of millions of people. 50 Awards under 7 categories were bestowed upon organizations and individuals that show concern for the environment, follow ethical practices including timely delivery, structural safety and sustainability.

Mr. Balwinder Kumar, IAS, Vice-Chairman, Delhi Development Authority; Mr. Manpreet Vohra, IFS; Mr. Mukul Jain, IRTS and Mr. Deep Chand, Joint Commissioner, were the Guests of Honour for the evening besides, leading real estate developers, government authorities, apex body members, architects, investors, finance/banking officials, land owners, consultants, and senior industry professionals from across India among an audience of 300. The audience also enjoyed the power-packed Awards Night with entertainment and stand-up comedy by Mr. Jiveshu Ahluwalia, stand-up comedian who kept the audience in splits with his witty jokes and one-liners.

The nomination process for these Awards entailed submissions including Nomination Forms; Detailed Information on Projects; Achievements; CVs of Nominees; and Media Coverage of the Company and its Projects. The Estate Avenues Award Winners were carefully selected by expert juries under different categories.
