Easynet Appointed to UK Government's New Network Services Framework

Easynet Limited is pleased to announce that it has been accepted on to the new government Network Services Framework, which will enable it to deliver high-quality networking and communications services to public sector organisations across the UK.

Easynet has been awarded a place on the Government’s new Network Services Framework, enabling it to deliver high-quality networking and communications services to public sector organisations across the UK.

The new agreement (RM1045) is the next generation framework for telecommunications services and is intended to make it more straightforward for public sector organisations to procure communications services. It creates a single framework managed by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) and is available to all public sector organisations. It came into operation in August and the Crown Commercial Service anticipates the framework will save the sector more than £50 million [1].

The initiative means public sector organisations across the UK will be able to benefit from Easynet's high-quality solutions. As a service aggregator, Easynet provides customers with value for money services that are exactly tailored to each organisation's unique needs.

Simon Holmyard, Head of Public Sector at Easynet, explains:  "Easynet are very focused on the public sector, and being on the Network Services Framework allows us to offer organisations greater flexibility and agility, and more of an aggregated/integrator approach to their networks”.

"We recognise that transparency and value for money are vital in this sector, and our unique customer portal, Matrix, offers public sector organisations complete visibility of their network, so they can see exactly what they are getting and how much it is costing them”.

The framework replaces and brings together a number of previous initiatives, including the PSN Connectivity and PSN Services frameworks, to create a more holistic solution for procuring networking and telephony services.

Holmyard explains: "This allows customers to buy whole solutions, whereas before they had to use two different frameworks. In the past, organisations would have to buy a WAN on one framework and IP Telephony on another. This combines the two so you can buy networking services and telephony as a single contract."

This should offer public sector organisations far greater choice when seeking IT services, enabling them to select the exact solutions required to meet their needs.

With Easynet now offering a wide range of technologies through the framework, including data access services, WAN solutions, inbound telephony, mobile and data services, audio conferencing, and agency services, among others, public sector organisations will find it easier than ever to secure the high-quality, cost-effective solutions they need.

About the RM1045 Network Services Framework

RM1045 is a public sector framework agreement created by the Crown Commercial Services (CCS) – the UK Government body, appointed to combine policy, advice and the means to deliver commercial services to the public sector while saving money for the taxpayer.

The framework provides access to a broad scope of networking and communication service providers, all of whom have been fully vetted and certified by the CCS, to meet the high standards required to service central government and organisations in the wider public sector arena (such as local government, education, health, emergency services and charities).
