Detroit Business Celebrates Women Who #MakeItHappen
International Women's Day Is Being Celebrated in Metro Detroit on Sunday, March 6, 2015.
Detroit, MI, February 24, 2015 (Newswire.com) - On Sunday, March 8, 2015, at 6 pm eastern, Super Woman Productions and Publishing will host their third annual International Women’s Day event, Women’s Day Tea. The event theme is Sip and Sushi. This is the only official International Women’s Day celebration held in the state of Michigan. Since 2012, professional women are invited from various industries across Metro Detroit to enjoy networking, live entertainment, freshly made sushi by Dr. Sushi, giveaways and a variety of tea selections provided by SocraTea in Midtown. There is one vendor opportunity available for a business that is at least 51% woman owned to sell their products and services. Vendors will sell jewelry, handbags, fair trade items and provide health information. Businesses that are unable to participate as vendors have the opportunities to provide items for the giveaways and gift bags. Current supporters of Women’s Day Tea include Karmanos Cancer Institute and Love MI Seasons. Tickets for Women’s Day Tea are available now for $35 and there are two sponsorship levels available for organizations and businesses that would like to be involved.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme is #MakeItHappen. Super Woman Productions and Publishing will honor Michigan based, women owned business leaders, at companies that are 51-100% woman owned, who have a history of quality products, services and employment statistics. The names of the 2015 honorees will be released prior to the event date. Lacretia Rogers, founder and publisher of Detroit CEO Magazine will host this year's event. Angela T. Jones, CEO of Super Woman Productions and Publishing will present the #MakeItHappen honorees with their awards.
