​Edrington Kyndal India Pvt Ltd, today announced the launch of Cutty Sark in new retail markets namely Goa, Karnataka, Telengana, Andhra Pradesh, Pondicherry, Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya and Daman and Diu. The premium blended Scotch Whisky brand debuted in India earlier this year when Kyndal Group, (India’s leading alcobev Company in the premium spirits segment) and Edrington, (Scotland’s premier producer and distributor of global spirits brands) formed a 50:50 joint venture - Edrington Kyndal India Pvt Ltd - to bottle, market and distribute Cutty Sark blended Scotch whisky in the Indian market. After the successful launch of Cutty Sark in other markets, the group resolved to introduce it to other regions.

The Cutty Sark blend will be imported in bulk from Scotland, and bottled at the best-in-class Kyndal facility in Goa.”

The official India launch of Cutty Sark held in Delhi and Kolkata, by Edrington Kyndal India Pvt Ltd was a grand affair that lived-up to the whisky’s global stature. The compelling story, and spirit, of Cutty Sark was reinforced with creative collaborations with designer Nitin Bal Chauhan, dazzling show-stopper actress Kalki Koechlin and music duo BLOT. For the first time in the history of the brand, the product will be bottled outside Scotland.

Between 2004 and 2013, imported whisky sales grew 22.5 per cent annually against 13.6 per cent for domestic produce, while whisky as a segment grew 13.8 per cent annually, according to IWSR. Cutty Sark is available in over 50 markets around the world. By the end of the next fiscal year, the brand expects to capture 10% of the market share in the country. The current market size of the whisky segment in India is estimated at around 1.2 million cases per annum. There has been a growing preference of premium Scotch whisky in India and Cutty Sark will fill the gap.
