Chicago Latino Public Affairs Committee Announces Endorsements for February 2015

The Chicago Latino Public Affairs Committee (CL PAC) has announced endorsements in several key Chicago political races for the February 24th elections.  “Our PAC is committed to helping elect candidates who will best serve the interests of the Latino community and prioritize the business and entrepreneurship issues facing minority owned business owners and executives,” said CL PAC Board Member, Pedro Cervantes.

The CL PAC’s support of the reelection of Rahm Emanuel for Mayor of Chicago reaffirms the PAC’s mission of supporting candidates that understand not only the Latino community, but more specifically the Latino business agenda.

CL PAC will formally announce its endorsements at the Endorsed Candidates Rally on February 12th at John Barleycorn, 149 W. Kinzie, from 5-8pm in Chicago’s River North neighborhood.  Invited guests include Mayor Rahm Emanuel, as well as all other endorsed candidates.

CL PAC takes pride in rousing community support for candidates in which it believes.  The PAC understands the importance of traditional fundraising methods and the impact of inspiring support at the ground level by enlisting motivated volunteers who inspire voter engagement by knocking on doors, logging hours at phone banks, and truly getting out the vote.  “As Latino professionals it is incumbent upon us to engage in the political process to make certain our voice is part of the dialogue,” said CL PAC Board Member, Korina Sanchez.  Ms. Sanchez added, “Latinos need to understand the importance of civic engagement, otherwise, our growing numbers will continue to be viewed as just that, and nothing more.”
