Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, April 15, 2015 (Newswire.com) - CG Square Adds to the Excitement With the Legendary Baba Ling’s Oriental Restaurant ‘Nanjing’
Adding to its reputation as the distinctive boutique destination in Ahmedabad, CG Square introduced ‘Nanjing’ the authentic Chinese restaurant by Mr. Sem Tian (Baba) Ling. Nanjing Restaurant in Ahmedabad is the latest outlet by the chain of restaurants owned by Mr. Ling that includes, Nanking, Imperial Garden, Ling’s Pavilion and Canton Spice Express. Mr. Baba Ling is presently available at Nanjing to meet and greet guests. His goal has always been to provide the best options for authentic Chinese cuisines in India. Mr. Baba Ling, one of the most renowned Chinese restaurant entrepreneurs in India, has built the success of his kitchens based on the principle of providing the freshest ingredients and the most authentic dishes amid unforgettable experiences.
Expressing his delight at the new development Mr. Rajesh Vaswani, Executive Director, Venus Group of Companies said, “With the introduction of the Nanjing Chinese Restaurant at CG Square, the F&B experience of patrons will be exponentially enhanced. As one of the prime, popular destinations in the city, CG Square is becoming known for offering boutique retail. Now with fine dining making a prominent foray here, our next step will be to provide constant cultural and entertainment choices in Ahmedabad.”
Mr. Baba Ling, Owner, Nanjing Restaurant also expressed his excitement, “Following in my father’s footsteps, I have designed Nanjing, Ahmedabad to give the true Chinese food experience to a fast emerging market, as my father did when he opened his first outlet in Mumbai in 1945. Nanjing being the capital of Jiangsu province in Eastern China is widely acclaimed as a primary centre for innovative Chinese cuisines. And while our focus in other cities is on providing novel non-vegetarian dishes that Chinese cuisine revolves around, Nanjing at CG Square will simultaneously introduce a wide variety of delectable and exotic vegetarian dishes that will happily surprise all our vegetarian patrons in Ahmedabad. It will be most rewarding too, considering that we have selected the heart of excitement in Ahmedabad as the location for our debut restaurant here. The menu has been specially designed for Ahmedabad to get the full essence of the finest food on offer by us across Indian cities for the past 70 years.”
In 1938, Mr. Baba Ling’s late father, Mr. Y.S Ling came to India and opened his first restaurant called ‘Nanking Chinese Restaurant’, in Mumbai in 1945. In 1990, Mr. Baba Ling and his brother, Mr. Sem Mon Ling started ‘Ling’s Pavilion’ to provide authentic Chinese food with a truly great ambience for fine dining. In 2000, Mr. Baba Ling ventured into the Delhi market, and was the first one to start a stand-alone, 3-storey Chinese restaurant, ‘Imperial Garden’. Following its success, he opened another stand-alone restaurant called ‘Nanking Chinese Restaurant’ in 2003, to carry on his legacy of the Nanking name. With increasing demand, he started yet another venture called ‘Canton Spice Company’, a light, fun, bistro style eatery serving various experimental Chinese dishes to suit the modern tastes at DLF Cyber Hub, Gurgaon. The increasingly popular express food brand, ‘Canton Spice Express’ is also spreading its wings with one of its first outlets at Flavours, the varietal food court at AlphaOne, Amritsar.
Mr. Ling’s business models have successfully introduced many novelties in the restaurant business like, clay-pot and bamboo rice, besides designing the Private Dining Room (PDR) concept. From 2005, Nanking Chinese Restaurant was also the first stand-alone restaurant to introduce authentic Dim Sums in a wide variety of flavours and shapes.
Exuding confidence about Nanjing at CG Square, Dr. Prodipta Sen of Alpha G:Corp Management Services shared, “Ahmedabad is a gastronomic paradise. Eating out is a popular form of entertainment and has been in vogue since times immemorial. At present, there are limited choices for authentic oriental cuisine in the city, but with Nanjing here now we will have the finest oriental cuisine in the city.”
CG Square continues to add to the overall excitement with new brands, entertainment and dining options with Marks & Spencer, Apple Service Centre, Casio, Raymond Made to Measure, Chemistry, Vedic and Soul, among other outlets set to open over the next few months.
