At Camping Ca' Savio a Kitchen Garden and a Whole Kit to Rediscover the Agricultural Traditions of Cavallino-Treporti

Cavallino Treporti, Venice, Italy, July 25, 2014 (Newswire.com) - This year at Camping Ca’ Savio there will be a small kitchen garden where clients can see how different aromatic plants and typical vegetables of the region of Cavallino-Treporti, characterized by antic agricultural roots, grow.  

In fact, in times of the Republic of Venice, most of the vegetables served in Venice would come from the gardens and cultivations of Lio Piccolo and Saccagnana where from there they would reach the famous markets of Rialto on board of the typical boats called “caorline”.    

Camping Ca’ Savio wants to contribute to the rediscovery of a territory of antic agricultural roots, which still today can survive thanks to the presence of tourists coming from all over Europe.

Guests will be able to see with their own eyes the vegetables grow. Also children will be able to observe from close the different species and will go home with a special gift.

At the Customer Care’s office guests will be able to collect a whole kit in a box which enables them to cultivate the typical tomatoes of Cavallino-Treporti, the venetian peppers and chicory, and give them a good opportunity to teach their children how to take care of the environment and to divide with their friends at the table the food and the memories of their vacation.

The special packet “Sapori del Veneto” is composed of:

• A container for the future plants
• Some earth
• Packets with biological, high quality tomatoes, peppers and chicory seeds
• Some labels to identify the different plants.
