Altus Dynamics ERP, The Natural Choice For The Canadian College Of Naturopathic Medicine

Canadian Microsoft partner Altus Dynamics welcomes a new Higher Education customer, the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine who will be implementing Altus Dynamics ERP based on Dynamics NAV 2013, Altus Employee Portals and Jet Reports.

Founded in 1978, the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM; http://www.ccnm.edu/) is Canada’s premier institute for education and research in naturopathic medicine and is home to the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic where more than 26,000 patients are treated annually.

As the school and clinic continued to grow, its existing accounting and procurement systems, ACCPAC and ePMX respectively, began to face operational challenges in handling its needs. The primary challenge it was facing was the need for improved budget/forecast management, including implementation of commitment accounting, which their existing system lacked. CCNM was budgeting primarily with spreadsheets and the forecasting tool they were using was not sophisticated enough for their needs. Compounding the issue, a lack of integration of procurement with the financial system resulted in excessive human effort. As a result, the College came to the conclusion that it needed a more modern, robust and scalable solution. It carried out a rigorous four month selection process, finally choosing Altus Dynamics.

With the selection of Altus Dynamics ERP, CCNM will be gaining a fully integrated financial management and accounting solution. Additionally, the Employee Portals will provide even more budget and procurement information access to end users, without the need to buy additional NAV licenses – reducing costs. CCNM also purchased Jet Reports, an advanced reporting tool that integrates into Dynamics NAV, providing additional reporting capabilities and sophisticated forecasting. With this project already underway, the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine can look forward to going live on their new system by the end of 2014.

Altus Dynamics specializes in the public sector and works with higher education organizations frequently, resulting in specific solution features and functions to the common challenges and resolutions they seek. Once live, CCNM will join other higher education customers such as Winnipeg Technical College, Kings University College and Cape Breton University utilising Altus Dynamics ERP to successfully manage their financial management requirements.
