Plumbing Firm to U.S. Rescue

The U.S Embassy looks to north Wales for help in solving its overseas plumbing problems.

A north Wales plumbing merchant has won a lucrative customer.

The U.S Embassy has snubbed firms closer to home and been in touch with Collister & Glover , which is based in Deeside.
Managing Director John Collister said he was delighted to receive the call.

"They came forward with a pumping problem. They were trying to retain the pressure in their apartments in Tbilisi and we helped them with a solution. They spent just over a thousand pounds with us and since then they've been back three, possibly four times now."

Tbilisi is the capital city of Georgia, which is a constitutional republic with a developing democracy and economy.
According to the U.S Embassy Tourist facilities outside of Tbilisi and Batumi are not highly developed, and many of the goods and services taken for granted in other countries are not yet available.

Not long after helping the Embassy resolve that problem, the company received an order from another U.S. Embassy in North Africa and once again they were able to step in and help.

Said Mr Collister: "We were able to source it for them and ship it out to Africa within 48 hours. So we're gaining a bit of a reputation with the American embassy and we'd like to build on that."

Mr Collister said Collister & Glover had worked hard to garner such important relationships.

He added: "I'm assuming they don't do that with just anyone. I'm guessing we passed all the tests which were required of us. They're happy to do business with us and we're certainly happy to do business with them."
