Raleigh-The Healing Place of Wake County announced today that the organization will participate with an informational booth at La Fiesta del Pueblo 2013, a one-day Latin American festival that is fun for the entire family!

La Fiesta del Pueblo celebrates Latino family, culture, and community. This event showcases popular folk music, visual art exhibits, dance performances, and children's activities. Traditional Latino recipes will be featured such as pupusas, paletas, churros, tortillas, tacos al carbón, empanadas and much more. It also provides local crafts people with an opportunity to exhibit their work. Sponsors and friends of the event include Carolina RailHawks, Nationwide Insurance, Wells Fargo, and ABC Channel 11.

About The Healing Place

The Healing Place of Wake County is a non-profit 501(c)(3) homeless shelter with a long-term, 12-step based, peer-run addiction recovery program. The Men's Campus opened its doors in 2001 and the Women's Campus began operation in 2006. The Healing Place facilities have provided more than 825,000 beds of shelter and days of recovery to homeless men and women at a cost of less than $35 per client per day. Remarkably, over 70% of the men and women who complete the program are still sober one year later. The Healing Place of Wake County is built on the principles of the highly successful Healing Place in Louisville KY, which received the 1998 US Department of Health Resources and Service Administration "Models That Work Award" in recognition of the success of the program.
