In a matter of days, Eric Djemba-Djemba, will be at St.Mirren Park, out on the pitch, playing at Greenhill Road. The Cameroon international will be utilized at both the central midfielder and holding midfielder positions.

St.Mirren's manager Danny Lennon reflected on his new signing:

" He wants regular football to ensure he goes to the World Cup with Cameroon this summer and we are happy to give him that platform."

Djemba-Djemba has considerable international experience. He played for Cameroon's national team during the 2002 World Cup. He has been capped 24 times by the national team. He wants to play in Brazil's World Cup this summer and St.Mirren are providing the stage to showcase his wares.

In Sir Alex Ferguson's new autobiography he speaks on Eric:

" Djemba-Djemba, another smashing lad, was hammered by the press for not being a signature signing. They always liked the marquee names and took a dimmer view of players with a lower recognition rating. Eric struck us as potentially another top central midfielder. I went to see him playing in France and he did really well. He understood the game, nipped attacks in the bud very well and was available for € 4m. "

Djemba-Djemba has played at clubs such as Nantes, Manchester United and Aston Villa. Prior the Scotland move, he featured at Serbian club Partizan Belgrade. He made 14 appearances for Partizan in 2013.
