May 18, 2012 (Newswire.com) - STILLWATER, MN - Avalon Medical announces the availability of its PeriSeal Surgical Tissue Patch for the veterinary market. For years veterinary surgeons have relied upon tissue patches for soft tissue reconstruction and repair as well as suture line buttressing during general surgical procedures. The decision by Smiths Medical, earlier this year, to discontinue the production of its Vet BioSISt line of products left an immediate void in veterinary tissue patching materials. PeriSeal was created to fill that void.
PeriSeal is a stabilized collagen-tissue patching material cut from porcine pericardium. It is used in soft tissue patching applications or wherever additional structural support is required. Avalon Medical's proprietary processing yields an acellular, cross-linked tissue with exceptional strength, elasticity and biocompatibility properties.
PeriSeal Tissue Patches are available in three convenient sizes, 6cm x 8cm, 8cm x 8cm and 10cm x 10cm. PeriSeal is shipped in a sterile, wet configuration, requires no additional preparation prior to use and has a shelf life of three years. PeriSeal products are sold through our U.S.A. distribution network as well as directly from our website at www.avalonmed.com. Questions about PeriSeal Tissue Patching material can be directed to Avalon Medical customer service at (888) 289-1890.
